Biking in Landskrona and on Ven
Landskrona and Ven offer wonderful biking along the exhilarating coast and through scenic nature reserves.
The Sydkustleden trail
The national cycle route Sydkustleden extends from Simrishamn to Helsingborg. The stretch totals 90 km of varied cycling. The cycle route takes you through the quaint town centre of Landskrona, past the picturesque fishing village of Borstahusen and on to Glumslövs, where it offers a fantastic view of the hills of Hilleshög, Öresund and the island of Ven.
A must-see when in the town centre is the Citadel, Landskrona castle, a fortress dating back to the 16th century. Right next to the castle, you will also find the Landskrona Konsthall art gallery, Landskrona Museum and Rothoffs Museikoloni allotment garden museum, the only one of its kind in Sweden. The town centre offers several restaurants, cafés and shops.
The cycle route from the town centre to Borstahusen runs along the sea. It is nice to stroll around old Borstahusen where there are buildings from the 18th century. The harbour is perfect for a dip in the sea, followed by a tasty dinner at Pumphuset. Once at Pumphuset, be sure to visit their art gallery and museum exhibition.
The route on to Glumslöv is slightly uphill, but your reward is a viewpoint that is nothing short of extraordinary.
Biking on Ven
The island of Ven offers pleasant cycling for the whole family. Along the route, you can stop and enjoy a dip in the sea, have a bite to eat, visit the Tycho Brahe Museum or just take in the surrounding countryside and tranquility. The ferry from Landskrona to Ven runs all year and takes just 30 minutes.
